•Dense structure and full strength: The forging process eliminates defects such as as-cast porosity, pores, and shrinkage holes, refines the metal grains, and increases the material density by more than 10%. The overall strength and toughness are far superior to cast steel wheels.
•Ultra-high wear resistance and fatigue resistance: the forging has a uniform structure, the wheel surface hardness can reach HB260-320, the wear resistance life is 2-3 times that of cast steel wheels, and the impact resistance and fatigue cracking resistance are greatly improved
•Strong load-bearing capacity: The rated load of a single wheel can reach 10-50 tons, which can be adapted to heavy-load scenarios such as large-tonnage and high-impact metallurgy, mining, and ports.
•High dimensional accuracy: CNC finishing after forging, the coaxiality error of the wheel rim and shaft hole is ≤0.02mm, the operation is smooth, and the rail gnawing phenomenon is greatly reduced.
•High safety redundancy: There are no hidden defects inside the forgings and excellent fracture resistance, avoiding sudden wheel breakage accidents and ensuring the safety of lifting operations.
The whole production process
The production of forged traveling wheels follows strict metallurgical and processing standards. The core process is as follows:
1. Blank preparation: Select qualified round steel blanks, conduct flaw detection, and eliminate internal defects.
2. Heating: Heating the blank to the forging temperature of 1150-1250℃ to improve the plasticity of the metal
3. Forging and forming: The blank is forged multiple times through a 10,000-ton forging press to shape the wheel blank and optimize the metal structure.
4. Heat treatment and tempering: quenching + high temperature tempering treatment to adjust the material hardness and toughness and eliminate internal stress
5. CNC finishing: turning rim, shaft hole, keyway to ensure dimensional accuracy and geometric tolerance
6. Surface treatment: wheel surface quenching and rolling strengthening to improve wear resistance; anti-rust coating

•Wheel diameter specifications: regular φ250mm~φ1000mm, oversized sizes can be customized
•Rim form: single rim, double rim, no rim (adapted to different tracks and working conditions)
•Carrying capacity: The dynamic load of a single wheel is 10-50 tons, and the static load can reach more than 80 tons.
•Applicable speed: ≤60m/min (heavy load), high-speed models can be customized
•Hardness requirements: wheel surface quenching hardness HRC45-55, core hardness HB260-320
